Arizona Tile Re-Names Affiliated Company

September 10, 2004
On August 1, 2004, Santa Fe Collection changed its name to Arizona Tile. Former Notre Dame alumnus and Heisman trophy winner, John Huarte, owns both Santa Fe Collection and Arizona Tile.

Santa Fe Collection, based in Anaheim, CA, with branches in Oakland, CA, and Denver, CO, was founded in 1981 as an importer and master distributor of natural stone and ceramic tile serving the U.S. western states. Arizona Tile is a wholesale distributor of natural stone tile and slabs, and ceramic and porcelain tile.

“In our changing industry, we find that the reasons for the separate identities are no longer compelling,” explained Arizona Tile President Bob Traxler. “Growth and consolidation in the homebuilding and flooring industries have regionalized our customers and made it increasingly more important for them to know that we are one company. Santa Fe Collection and Arizona Tile both operate with the same goal in mind: to source the best products from all over the world and to back those products with rock-solid service by the best people in the business.”

Founded in 1977, Arizona Tile now has 17 locations across six western states. The company reports that it is the largest independent importer of ceramic tile and natural stone in the country.
