AIA 2001 continues partnership with stone and tile industry

By Michael Reis
April 18, 2001
The AIA Exposition offers visitors the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Learning Units (LUs) while discovering new products.

Once again, the Stone & Tile Pavilion -- sponsored by Stone World and Contemporary Stone & Tile Design -- will be part of the AIA Expo.
Architects from across the country will be traveling to Denver, CO, from May 17 to 19 for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Convention and Exposition. And once again, the exposition will include the Stone & Tile pavilion, which is sponsored by Stone World and Contemporary Stone & Tile Design magazines.

The exposition will occupy 120,000 square feet of space at the Colorado Convention Center, and it will feature products and services from more than 600 companies. And of particular interest, many companies are offering Continuing Education Learning Units (LUs) for participating in continuing education sessions provided by the exhibitors. More than 100 AIA/CES Registered Providers will participate in the Expo Provider Program by offering educational programs at their booths. The programs will be 15 to 20 minutes in length, and attendees must complete a minimum of four different sessions in order to receive the first two continuing education credits. After that, credits will be recorded as 0.25 hours per session. A list of participating Registered Providers and instructions for reporting credits is provided in the convention kit. (Credits do not qualify as health, safety, and welfare.)

Overall, the show is offering 145 continuing education programs, 43 tours and 50 special events and added attractions. In addition to the Stone & Tile Pavilion, the exposition will feature the High-Tech Pavilion, the Lighting Pavilion, the Fabric Architecture Pavilion, the Restoration Products Pavilion and the introduction of the Green Products Pavilion, sponsored by Environmental Design & Construction magazine.
