The New Jersey Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) will hold “The Science of Design: A Design Collaborative Symposium” at Jersey City’s Liberty Science Center on Sept. 25. Members of other ASID chapters, the Interior Design Society (IDS), the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) are also welcome to attend.

Keynote luncheon speaker Randy Fiser, CEO of ASID, will present a CEU with the Well Building Institute. There will also be two other CEUs (also approved by AIA). A Design Fair with an array of new products and resources for every segment of the industry will be open from 1-5 p.m.

From 5-6 p.m. there will be a walking CEU and panel discussion around the Skyscraper exhibit on display at the Liberty Science Center. The exhibit explores the planning, design, engineering, and technology of these structures and their effect on human culture, the environment, and local weather patterns. A cocktail reception will conclude the event.

Sherwin-Williams will host the keynote CEU and is sponsor of the luncheon. Media sponsors include Aspire Design and Home and Design NJ: New Jersey’s Home and Design Magazine.

“The Science of Design promises to be our best event yet, allowing attendees to gain new insights in the field of design, cultivate new relationships and discover new products and resources in this stimulating, interactive environment," said Anna Maria Mannarino, president of the New Jersey Chapter of ASID. “It is also a great opportunity for our industry partners and others to exhibit their latest innovations to a receptive audience and to strengthen connections with the design community.”

Tickets are $125, which includes a shuttle from the Liberty Landing Ferry to the Liberty Science Center.
