SAVANNAH, GA -- John Cox, Founder/President of Cox Tile, Inc. in San Antonio, TX, was presented the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) 2015 Ring of Honor Award this past week. It was presented by NTCA president, James Woelfel, at an industry awards luncheon during the Total Solutions Plus (TSP) conference held in Savannah, GA, from October 24 to 27, 2015.

The Ring of Honor award is given to individuals who have impacted the industry through active participation, devotion and support of NTCA programs and initiatives. It is presented to one who has made a difference in the tile industry. For over 35 years, John Cox has devoted himself to all facets of the tile industry; from actual tile design and layout, to installation and business management.

Since 2000, Cox has been an integral part of the NTCA, serving as membership chairman, president and one of the first NTCA Five Star Contractors. "John takes his role in the NTCA quite seriously," said James Woelfel, NTCA president. "Whether writing informative and educational columns for the Association's publication, TileLetter, or personally promoting the Association and its mission at industry events, John Cox is always there to lend a helping hand."

Cox has also received numerous industry awards including NTCA's 2009 Tile Person of the Year and grand prizes for both tile and stone installation projects from TileLetter, Coverings and the NTCA Five Star Contractor Program. He takes pride in the work his company performs and works diligently on the application process for award recognition, citing installation methods and using his hobby of photography to illustrate his employees' craftsmanship.

Cox is known for networking with builders, architects and designers in his marketplace, bringing his knowledge and expertise to the industry through educational sessions at his shop. His firm also offers continuing education credits which the NTCA provides. He has become the "go-to person" regarding the association's tile education programs.

"The NTCA is the premier association for ceramic tile and natural stone installation contractors," said Cox. "Joining this organization was one of the best business decisions I've ever made. I believe wholeheartedly in the association's mission to develop and maintain installation standards, and to promote qualified labor. I am proud to be a member and am truly grateful to be this year's Ring of Honor recipient joining such a distinguished group of individuals."
