Blanco, the German manufacturer of finely crafted sinks and faucets, is a 2013 Interior Design Best of Year (BOY) honoree for the Blanco Modex sink.

Modex has been recognized this awards season for its distinct raised profile, cubic style and innovative draining system. The sink has received several awards including iF, Product Innovation Award (PIA), Good Design Award, KB Culture Award, 2013 IDEA (International Design Excellence Award) and a Red Dot International Design Award.

Blanco has been recognized by the design community with six BOY awards in the last five years for MicroEdge, Solon, Ronis, Culina, Crystalline and now Modex. Three of those six were BOY winners.

Part of the Blanco Silgranit® II family, Modex features a unique 3-inch profile that sits above the counter and offers a generous amount of task space due to the dual draining design and large integrated cutting board.

Qualified interior designers and architects selected BOY product design finalists during a two week period in October via an online vote, and category winners were determined by a jury of leading architects and designers. According to Interior Design, over 64,000 votes were tallied in this year’s competition. More than 900 people from the design community attended the BOY awards celebration hosted by Interior Designon December 5, 2013 at the IAC Building in New York City.
