Innovative booth designs provided stone trade professionals at Marmomacc 2013 an opportunity to see new applications developed using the latest stoneworking technologies. Some of these booths were among the winners of the seventh edition of the Best Communicator Award. The award is presented to booths with outstanding visual approaches to conveying the richness and expressive potential of stone.

The three winners, selected by a jury that included architects, designers and members of the trade press, were:

• Fibra, with architect Francesco Gallarini, for presenting an optimal mix of expressiveness and technology.

• Scandola Marmi, with designer Manuel Barbieri, for entrepreneurial spirit and coherence of design.

• Testi Group, with architect Eve-Marie Larqueloux, for the contrast between stone and wood, two noble natural materials.

Seven additional booth designs received Honorable Mentions from the jury: Comes with Studio Venturelli, Cava Romana with Studio Architettura Soldano, Tyrolit with C&P Partners, Favorita with architect Paolo Tosi from HOP Design, Solancis with Sergio Couto, Finstone with Studio Sacchetti, and Premium Stone.
