Elio E. Salvo, 84, passed away on Thursday, April 11, after a brief battle with cancer. Elio, who was the founder of Miracle Sealants Co. and the man who coined the term "Impregnator" with the introduction of 511 Impregnator, will be missed by both Miracle Sealants and the Salvo family.Elio Salvo

The son of two Italian immigrants, Elio was born in Boston, MA, on September 7, 1928. He married his beautiful wife, Pauline, in 1950. Sadly, she passed away in 1999 a few months before their 50th wedding anniversary.

Elio's father, Joseph, built, from the ground up, a successful stone and tile contracting and installation company in the New England area. The family moved to California after World War II.

Elio's grandchildren represent the fourth generation of Salvo tile and stone professionals.

An entrepreneur with a vast vision, Elio founded Miracle Sealants in the early 1980s and, with the help of his two sons, Joseph and Albert, led the company into a new generation of tile, stone and grout care and maintenance. The tile and stone care industry owes a great deal to this pioneer: many terms, products and procedures for the protection, maintenance and restoration of tile and stone employed to this day are related to the innovations of Elio and Miracle Sealants.

Elio is survived by his four children: Debra, Connie, Joseph and Albert, and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The industry has lost a visionary and he will be missed sorely by all.

Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday April 16, 2013 at St. Rita Paris, 318 N. Baldwin Ave., Sierra Madre, CA 91024-1203, (626) 355-1292.

Burial will be held after service at Forest Lawn – Covina Hills, 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, CA 91724.
