Abrasive Technology (AT) announced that it was selected to host a visit from members of the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) and ACHIEVE (Action Communities for Health, Innovation and Environmental Change) to showcase AT’s successful health and wellness programs.

The visit was held March 5, 2013 at the company’s Lewis Center, OH, world headquarters. During the visit, members of the organizations viewed and learned about AT’s corporate health and wellness programs, including a diabetes wellness program, walking challenge, indoor and outdoor walking paths, learning center fitness area, healthy options cafeteria and “Zumba”/yoga classes.

AT is a corporate member of “Achieve,” a project of the Delaware General Health District, which includes public, community and academic members. The Delaware County “Achieve” was one of three sites nationwide selected for a NACCHO visit.

As part of its participation in “Achieve,” AT received pedometers and provided them to associates to track walking steps. The company’s Walking Challenge, held for eight weeks in fall 2012, drew 53 participants, who walked for a total of 12,537 miles — with 43 of the participants reaching a 100-mile goal.
