LiquaGlass is a product of modern epoxy technology, claims the manufacturer. It has been chemically formulated to cure at a very rapid rate at room temperature, and it is designed initially for marble and granite chip repair. The current accepted form of repair using cyanoacrylates has limitations because of the common “blooming” or color changing effect the CA chemistry has on many light-colored stones. It is claimed that LiquaGlass will experience none of those bad effects of the older technology and will allow the fabricator to have one specialized chemistry that can be used for basically all stones and surfaces that are in need of various small repairs.

LiquaGlass is packaged in novel containers that include dispensing pumps. The epoxy is dispensed in a 2:1 fashion, and when a small quantity (¼ ounce) is mixed, the applicator has less than five minutes to apply. Dry times can be as quick as 10 minutes in warm conditions with very small repair areas. According to the manufacturer, the repaired area can be put into service in as short of a time as one hour.
