Building Stone Institute (BSI) recently announced new details about its 2014 Tucker Architectural Design Awards program to be held at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Unity Temple in Oak Park, IL, on June 25, 2014.

Esteemed jurors for the 2014 program will include Blair Kamin, Architecture Critic for the Chicago Tribune; Duncan G. Stroik, Principal, Duncan G. Stroik Architect, LLC in South Bend, IN; and Peter Lindsay Schaudt, FASLA FAAR, Partner, Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects, Chicago, IL.

Call for Entries was announced in October 2012.  Entry deadline is August 16, 2013.  Submission binders will be due on October 4, 2013 with the design jury session planned for October 25, 2013.

New for 2014 is a student element to advance forward-thinking, innovative concepts for the use of natural stone in design. Competition details for this segment of the award presentation are being developed with consultation from the Illinois Institute of Technology College of Architecture in Chicago. BSI’s student element will initially draw upon a few Chicago-based architectural schools as a host city pilot program. Involvement with members of the BSI will further increase design student connectivity to this resource of valuable natural stone knowledge and experience. Students earning design recognition from the jury will be invited to attend the awards ceremony, offering opportune interaction with world-class, award-winning architects and landscape architects.

Entry forms, submission guidelines and additional information about the Tucker Design Awards program and joining the BSI are available online at: www.buildingstoneinstitute.org.
