Siblings carry on brother’s legacy at Quality Surfaces in Spencer

SPENCER, IN -- Last Christmas, tragedy struck the Job Family when Mike Job was killed while on vacation in Mexico. Mike was a wonderful man who built Quality Surfaces, Inc. more than two decades ago and was very active in the community. His sister, Sky, and brother, Monte, had both helped him launch the company in the 1990s and Sky had worked on and off with Mike throughout the years. Monte had been living and working in Austin, TX, and moved back to Spencer, IN, to help his sister carry on Mike’s vision of Quality Surfaces.quality surface

"This year has been one of the most difficult in our lives, but we have stayed focused on doing what Mike would have wanted us to do, keeping his life's work going with the company and continuing to be involved in the Spencer community," said Sky.

Mike was very involved in Spencer and regularly donated materials to Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore program, and was involved in numerous Habitat House projects. He also created a vocational scholarship for Owen Country graduates, regularly donated to 4-H, the Owen County Community Foundation, the Learning Network, Owen County Humane Society, Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, and various other charitable organizations.
"This year, we held a fundraiser to benefit the Humane Society and helped to build two Habitat for Humanity homes," added Monte. "We also have added a 20-foot sink display and added more vignettes to our showroom."

In addition to giving back to the community, Quality Surfaces is the only showroom in the Spencer area where homeowners can view hundreds of full size granite and marble slabs. "It makes imaging your dream kitchen so much simpler than looking at a small sample," said Sky. This is truly a stone selection few competitors can match, enhanced by a state-of-the-art fabrication facility, and in-house installation crews, providing a great customer service experience.

Quality Surfaces has always kept up with the latest trends in countertops. The company’s product offering includes the finest granite, marble, soapstone, quartz and solid surface. The Jobs are proud members of the Artisan Group, a network of North American independent countertop professionals who custom make everything to spec. The Artisan Group provides its members with high quality stone products, and enables Quality Surfaces to back their granite with an industry-leading lifetime warranty.

If you are searching for your new stone countertop, visit Sky and Monte, visit Quality Surfaces’ Web site www.QualitySurfaces.com, or check them out on Facebook. Can’t make it to the showroom? Set up a free in-home estimate and arrange to have the mobile showroom show up on your doorstep for your shopping pleasure.
Quality Surfaces’ showroom is located off State Road 43 South, three miles south of McCormick’s Creek State Park. Phone: 812-876-5838. E-mail: info@qualitysurfaces.com
