As part of the Marmomacc event in Verona, Italy, the 14th edition of the Marmomacc Stone Academy’s continuing education program on stone design for architects was an example of the show’s international dimension. A total of 28 architects from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., India, South Africa and Malaysia were selected to attend this year’s program.

The architects spent five days learning about design with natural stone, earning more than 20 AIA credits. Participants visited a quarry and processing facilities in Valpolicella and spent almost an entire day visiting Marmomacc. The program ended with two days in Milan, hosted by Mapei, which included tours of a factory and R&D laboratory, as well as guided visits of La Scala and il Duomo.

Marmomacc’s continuing education program is co-sponsored by Stone World and recognized by the American Institute of Architects, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Australian Institute of Architects and the South African Institute of Architects.
