COMMERCE CITY, CO -- In January,Atlas Copco acquiredPerfora S.p.A.,an Italian company that manufactures and sells drilling and cutting equipment for the dimensionstone industry. Perfora is now part of Atlas Copco's Surface Drilling Equipment Division.

In the U.S., Matt Peterson was appointed Product Line Manager, overseeing Atlas Copco products for the dimension stone industry.

The company's products, which include diamond wire saws and drill rigs specifically designed for dimension stone applications, are distributed through direct sales and local dealers in selected countries around the world. "Perfora is a leading supplier in this segment, with a strong customer focus and high-quality products," said Bob Fassl, Business Area President of Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation Technique.

"We see good growth opportunities through this deal. As part of the Atlas Copco Group, Perfora becomes a unique global supplier of tailor-made equipment for dimension stone producers." In the U.S., Matt Peterson was appointed Product Line Manager, overseeing Atlas Copco products for the dimension stone industry. In his new role, Peterson will report directly to Maurice Hunter, Business Line Manager-Surface Drilling Equipment.

Prior to accepting his new position, Peterson served as a quarry division manager, overseeing 10 quarries as well as developing a new dimension stone product. His career began in Vermont working for Rock of Ages Corp., one of the largest dimension stone producers in the U.S. While on school breaks, he worked in several of Rock of Ages quarries in Vermont and Canada.
