Idea Marmi of Sicily, Italy, prides itself on meeting the demands of its customers. The company operates a state-of-the-art stoneworking plant that produces a wide range of tile and cut-to-size products, of which the majority is exported to the U.S. and India.

Like so many of its neighboring Sicilian stone producers, Idea Marmi is a family-owned business. It is now run by a third generation, which includes Salvatore Gambarotta, Commercial Director, and Francesco Gambarotta, Technical Director.

With a staff of 15, the company gives full attention to its clients on each project. “I want to see the face of my customer,” said Salvatore Gambarotta. “I am responsible from the beginning to the end.”

Gambarotta explained that they are willing to work with architects and designers to develop unique one-of-a-kind designs in stone. Idea Marmi maintains an extensive selection of marble, granite and quartzite on site to meet all style demands.

Machinery in the production facility includes a “Bellani” Comet OMG polishing line, an IDRA tile line and two Cemar Lepthos bridge saws. At the time of Stone World’s visit, the company was working on a project in Dubai made of Avorio Francesca marble.

In addition to its slab yard, Idea Marmi also has a showroom where it presents a variety of its stone offerings. The company not only produces elegant custom stone pieces, but it also carries many exotic materials. A total of 60% of Idea Marmi’s market is India, 30% is the U.S. and the rest is local business.
