In addition to slab and tile production facilities, the Trapani stoneworking region of Sicily, Italy, is also home to a variety of cut-to-size shops. When stepping inside the facility ofLavorazione Marmi, it is evident that it is a company that values true craftsmanship.

The company produces a broad spectrum of custom pieces, including sinks in a number of shapes and sizes, along with balustrades and other architectural elements. It is clear that great attention to detail is at the forefront of Lavorazione Marmi’s production process.

Among the machinery at the shop is an Intermac Jet waterjet, which is used to create intricate custom designs from the stone pieces. For example, one finished piece on display at the time ofStone World’s visit was a vanity top with dual stone bowl sinks complemented by a basketweave backsplash, which had been cut on the waterjet.

Additional equipment used in the production process includes a GMM Eura bridge saw, a Cemar Sg 100 saw and an Ital Mecc Air 3 dust collector.
