After operating Westwood Tile & Stone for more than 25 years, Linda and Steve Stelmaszyk sold the company in the mid-2000s with the intention of retiring. However, when the shop closed its doors five years later, the couple made a “comeback” of sorts, purchasing much of the equipment and re-opening as Stoneshop with many of the original employees. Today, Stoneshop is a well-run fabrication facility, tile showroom and stone gallery.
Linda and Steve Stelmaszyk originally founded the company in 1980, mostly doing tile for high-end bathrooms, and that ultimately led them into the stone business. “By the early 1990s, we got more involved in kitchens,” Linda Stelmaszyk said. “We had been doing some work with local fabricators, but then we decided to do our own fabrication. By 1995, we occupied 21,000 square feet.”
