In 1999, the City of St. Louis, MO, adopted the Downtown Development Action Plan (dubbed “Downtown Now”), and since that time, over $4.5 billion has been invested in over 100 architectural initiatives. These range from large-scale projects such as Busch Stadium, Lumiere Place and Citygarden to historic renovations that currently house hotels, lofts, offices and retail spaces. Among them, artist and designer Mark Pitliangas of Antique Architectural Decor painstakingly revitalized two historic buildings that he purchased on Olive Street in the heart of Downtown.
