Conceived in the tradition of the Stone Fabricators Alliance (SFA) Workshops, the second edition of the SFA Mega-Workshop will take place from October 20 to 22, 2011 in Collinsville, IL -- a suburb of St. Louis, MO. Hands-on demonstrations of full-scale equipment and gear will take place on the show floor, as the event will once again take place in a 40,000-square-foot facility with cranes reaching 140 feet long.

The goal of the event is to bring machinery and technology suppliers together with fabricators in an environment that promotes learning. Machinery manufacturers will be running equipment at full speed, creating actual kitchens.

Also on the show floor, fabricators will be showcasing new techniques in hand fabricating in “The Cage,” an all-wet, hands-on area where users will be able to demo tools from the SFA’s Guardian Sponsors and see them work in real time on actual stone products.

In addition to the educational opportunities on the show floor, a classroom education program was designed by the SFA for an audience of fabricators. Full seminars include “How To Set Up a Digital Shop” and “Understanding Fabrication and Business Costs,” and they will be held daily -- free for attendees.
