NUREMBERG, GERMANY -- Stone+Tec 2011 opened today in Nuremberg, Germany, and it will continue through June 25. The event is showcasing stone producers from around the world, along with suppliers of stoneworking machinery and accessories.

Among the innovations at Stone+tec, suppliers of quartz surfacing are showcasing a range of color and styles. These include collections with vibrant colors, textured surfaces and recycled content. An example of this can be found in Cosentino's Eco line of surfacing. The company's "Iron Ore" variety contains stone scraps, micronized recycled glass, recycled mirror, recycled glass and vitrified ashes bound by an eco-friendly resin.

Meanwhile, design interest in the quartz surfacing arena is being generated by the German supplier Rossitis, which is showcasing Caesarstone products in unique applications. These include one-of-a-kind curved showers and furnishings.

As usual, Antolini Luigi is creating a buzz on the show floor with its unique juxtaposition of painted models and exotic stone materials. Antolini is also highlighting its "Natura Collection" of textured stone products.
