Gasper “GK” Naquin, newly elected MIA President


CLEVELAND, OH - Gasper “GK” Naquin, Founder and President of Stone Interiors in Loxley, AL and Gaston, SC, has been chosen as the new President of the Marble Institute of America (MIA). Some of Naquin’s accomplishments include: the 2004 Pinnacle Award for Special Use of Stone and the 2005 Stone World magazine “Fabricator of the Year” Award. Naquin has also served on the MIA board of directors as Treasurer and Secretary.

For over 20 years, Naquin was a partner with Intrepid Enterprises in New Orleans, LA. During that time, Intrepid grew from a regional commercial stone company to one covering most of the southern half of the U.S. In 1996, Naquin sold his interest in Intrepid and started his current business, Stone Interiors.

Other officers chosen for the MIA’s Board of Directors at the association’s annual meeting held in Las Vegas in January are: Vice President, Michael Twiss of Columbia Stone in Tualatin, OR; Secretary, Jonathan Zanger of Walker Zanger, Inc. in Perth Amboy, NJ; Treasurer, Tony Malisani of Malisani, Inc. in Great Falls, MT; David Castellucci of Kenneth Castellucci & Associates, Inc. in Lincoln, RI; and Patrick Perus of Polycor, Inc. in Quebec City, Quebec. They will serve terms expiring in 2015. Additionally, Luca Burlamacchi of Decolores Marmores de Granitos LTDA in Cachoeiro do Itapemirim, Espirito Santo, Brazil was elected to fill the vacant Central/South American board seat.
