CHARLOTTE, NC - Biesse America, a leading provider of high-tech stone, woodworking and glass stone systems, recently acquired approximately 14 acres of land adjacent to its existing Charlotte, NC, headquarters to accommodate the company’s rapid expansion. The new building, aimed to become the company’s North American headquarters, will house additional offices and parts and service areas as well as an expanded showroom. The new North American headquarters will enable Biesse to continue to serve its global clientele at a time of significant growth, reports the company. In 2006, Biesse America faced a growth of 42% of order acquisition, and in 2007, the Biesse’s North American sales are expected to be in the $100 million, according to Biesse America.
In April of this year, Biesse America acquired AGM Glass Machinery Inc. AGM has been the North American leader in Biesse’s stone and glass distribution equipment since 1989, most notably the Intermac line of CNC machines.
The new Biesse North American headquarters in Charlotte is estimated to be approximately 80,000 square feet, of which 25,000 square feet will be entirely dedicated to a large state-of-the-art showroom. In addition to displaying the company’s line-up of machinery, the showroom is also the site of ongoing training seminars, such as Biesse’s “One2One” events, highlighted by live machinery demonstrations and instruction from in-house engineers experts.
Property Manager Giorgia Ferrari will coordinate construction of the new headquarters. “Giorgia brings a long list of accomplishments in the design and coordination of major building projects,” said Federico Broccoli, president and CEO of Biesse America. “Most notably, she has gained international recognition for her work with the Ferrari S.p.A. as property manager of the automaker’s high-profile building projects.”
“I look forward to bringing my design sensibilities and project management skills to bear on the creation of Biesse’s headquarters, which will be the quintessence of elegance, lightness and functionality,” said Ferrari. Biesse plans to break ground on the new headquarters in December 2007 and announce its Grand Opening by July 2009.
