Through its subsidiary Biesse America Inc., Biesse S.p.A. has signed a preliminary agreement to acquire the “distribution and service” branch of business from the company AGM Glass Machinery Inc, which has been the U.S. distributor for Intermac CNC stone and glass processing machinery for 20 years. As of press time, the operation was expected to be concluded by April of this year.

Biesse S.p.A. is the industrial division from Pesaro, Italy, and it is listed in the STAR segment of the Italian Stock Exchange.

Founded in 1982, AGM has its main headquarters in Pineville, NC, and it sells machines and tools used to process stone and glass. Frank Micalizzi, one of the founders of the company, along with his brothers, Mike and Matthew, will be working alongside the Chairman and CEO of Biesse America Inc., Federico Broccoli, to implement the new development plan. “The U.S. market is an absolute priority for the Biesse Group,” commented Biesse Chairman Roberto Selci after signature of the agreement. “I would like to thank the Micalizzi family for making Intermac a leader in North America. Now we want to develop a network with an unprecedented level of distribution and quality of human resources, whose primary focus will be on the service provided for our customers.”
