Schechner Lifson Corp. -- known for its specially designed insurance program for the marble, stone and ceramic tile industry -- has devised a proactive plan to help clients avoid or minimize claims. The company has published a safety manual for the industry, dealing with topics such as repetitive motion injuries; basics of eye protection; back injury protection; safer lifting; hearing conservation; respiratory protection; proper equipment operation; handling in-bound containers and trucks, handling outbound shipments, safe driving practices, housekeeping and maintenance; and construction/contractor job site safety. The 30-page manual also deals with OSHA regulations. Referred to as the WASP (Workplace Awareness Safety Program), this book was published for importers, wholesalers retailers, and fabricators in the marble, stone and ceramic tile industry.
