GE Superabrasives introduces Super Coarse MBS diamonds, now available in the US mesh sizes 20/25 and 18/20. For core drilling, super coarse high grade MBS diamonds offer cubo-octahedral shapes and show resistance to pressure, heat, abrasion and impact, according to the company. GE Superabrasives attributes minimal wear and tear on the drilling equipment, and a reduction in power requirements to the free cutting action of the super coarse MBS diamonds. They are also said to handle a wider range of formations, allowing the drill bit to remain in the hole for a much longer time period, in addition to reduced rod tripping time.
