International Italmarmi of Carrara, Italy, is offering a material called Sodalite Blue.

Sodalite Blue

This material has a deep blue color, and its mineral composition of Al and Na silicates means it has a high technical resistance, according to the company, which adds that it is particularly suitable for special interior cladding and flooring projects.

Originally, the stone was used by local craftsmen for making precious objects. But recently, with the new development of the quarry, blocks have been extracted for processing into slabs. The quarry is situated at 3,800 meters in the Bolivian Andes and is a vast deposit which has been rationally developed and equipped with all the most modern infrastructures. The material comes in two types: Sodalite Blue Royal Sapo and Sodalite Blue Nuvolata.
