Matrix Stone Products announced the following recent installations of its bridge sawing equipment: Aspen Countertops of Salt Lake City, UT; J & J Imports (second machine) of St. Augustine, FL; and Bronxdale Tile & Marble Co. of Bronxdale, NY.

Bronxdale Tile & Marble Co. operates two divisions, ceramic tile and marble, from a large showroom that caters to contractors and the retail sales market. The company, which has a business mix of 50% commercial and 50% residential/retail, purchased the Z-Max Gantry Saw from Matrix. "We have a heavy contractor-based clientele, mainly because we know how to work with them, which is adapting to their rigorous and demanding schedules," said owner Danny Coscia. "We cover a wide area, from midtown Manhattan to the five boroughs and beyond to a wide radius that covers Westchester and virtually the tri-state area. We are presently involved in a large job for one of our contractors located at the Kimberly Hotel in Manhattan that involves replacing all of the hotel's marble vanities."

The retail and residential part of the company's business involves marble countertops and tile for kitchens, baths and specialty items such as fireplaces and custom tile and marble work.

Precision H2O recently celebrated its 10th anniversary as a waterjet company, which cuts tile, stone, porcelain and other various materials into complex murals, detailed signage, corporate logos and geometric shapes throughout the U.S. The company operates from facilities in Spokane, WA, and Salt Lake City, UT. "I have always felt that if we could strategically look at the market and locate waterjet facilities in areas of the country that have a good industrial base, and are located near areas experiencing strong population growth, we could maintain sufficient revenue for each of the locations to stand on their own," said founder Dick Baiter. "We are extremely pleased with that formula so far."

The beginnings of Precision H2O step back to a trade show in 1992 attended by Baiter and his wife Lynn. There, the couple observed a waterjet demonstration and knew the displayed technology would benefit their existing company, Quarry Tile. Quickly, the waterjet idea jumped from Quarry Tile to its own venue, Precision H2O.
