With a background in construction, Nevzat Kansu decided to use his experience and know-how to open Neka, Inc., a large-scale stone fabrication business, in Dulles, VA, in 1989. And to aid the company in reaching the level of success that it reaps today, Kansu has equipped the 60,000-square-foot shop with an assortment of top-of-the-line machinery over the past 20 years, including three Bavelloni Egar CNC stoneworking centers. Each year at Coverings, stone fabricators from around the country gather in a open "Fabricator Forum," where they are invited to share their questions and experiences with a panel of industry experts. This year's forum took place on the final day of Coverings, April 24, in Chicago, IL, and while attendance was down from previous forums, there was no shortage of topics to be discussed during the two-hour session.  Full discussion

In expanding his Greensboro, NC, residence, prominent club owner and entrepreneur  Rocco Scarfone went with a palette that included a broad range of unique, one-of-a-kind stone applications. The stonework was completed by Granite and Marble by Malavé of Greensboro, which specializes in high-end custom stone designs. Full article
