Technistone was established in 1997 as a joint-stock company between Sindat, s.r.o. of the Czech Republic and Technistone USA, Inc. of Houston, TX. The manufacturing plant, which produces a composite product consisting of 93% natural material, is located in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. Utilizing the latest Breton technology, the company manufactures its material that it exports to more than 60 countries across five continents.
“From the very beginning, the key to our success has been to concentrate on innovative development and high-quality products,” stated Technistone, adding that its client base includes importers, developers and private consumers as well as kitchen, bathroom and furniture manufacturers from around the world. “Our product and color ranges are very wide. We produce different sizes of slabs and tiles as well as cut-to-size products in more than 50 colors. Thanks to our stone workshop, we can fill nearly all demands of our customers, in regards to size and shape of the product.”

Technical qualities

A multi-head cross-cutting unit is used for tile production.
Technistone products are comprised of 93% natural materials -- primarily quartz and granite -- and 7% additives. These additives include resin, which binds the individual components together and provides strength, and color pigments that enhance aesthetics and ensure color stability.
“Our products are manufactured using the latest Breton technology, based on vacuum vibration pressing of selected natural materials combined with a special polyester resin and color pigment,” stated Technistone. “This technology ensures the exceptional physical, mechanical and aesthetic qualities of our products.”
In late 2005, the company launched a new production line, further contributing to its state-of-the-art facility. Currently, it is in the process of doubling its manufacturing capacity, Technistone reports.
“Manufacturing is under permanent control to ensure the compliance with all required standards, and the preservation of the high quality of the products that made Technistone popular all over the world,” stated the company. “Today, the company has more than 200 skilled employees who work for the only manufacturer of conglomerate stone in Central Europe.”

Quality control

Technistone’s client base includes importers, developers and private consumers as well as kitchen, bathroom and furniture manufacturers from around the world. The aesthetic and technical qualities of the company’s material make it desirable for both residential and commercial applications.
Because Technistone is committed to manufacturing high-quality products, it places great emphasis on adhering to strict quality-control standards -- from raw material all the way to the final product, packaging and dispatch from the manufacturing plant. The entire manufacturing process conforms to predefined regulations and standards.
“Quality control at the individual manufacturing stages is performed by trained personnel, supervised by a team of experienced experts and controllers,” stated Technistone. “The result is high-quality products and satisfied customers.”
According to the company, Technistone is regularly certified according to ISO 9001 standards. Additionally, it possesses a NSF certificate for usage in the food-processing industry.
Technistone also places a great deal of emphasis on in-house development. “Our experienced development team is able to create products as successful as the Starlight and Venetian ranges, but it can also fulfill specific design wishes of customers from all over the world,” stated the company. “The fully equipped development lab at Technistone provides ample development background for working on improving, in particular, the aesthetic and physical/mechanical properties of products, such as absorptive capacity, flexural strength, abrasion, etc.”
Among some recent projects that Technistone has supplied material for is the International Airport in Beyrouth, Lebanon; the Kingston Hotel in Guam; the Cinema Hall of Sing Mei Movie City in Beijing, China; the CSOB Bank in Prague, Czech Republic; and the Redcastle Hotel in Donegal, Ireland.
